A veteran Lions player has decided to hang up his cleats and call it a career. Defensive lineman John Cominsky posted on his social media feed that he is retiring from the NFL.
Cominsky spent three seasons in Detroit, beginning in 2022 after being waived by the Atlanta Falcons. The versatile lineman clicked quickly with the Lions, starting 19 games in two seasons and bagging six sacks while playing both end and tackle. He suffered a serious knee injury in training camp last summer that caused him to miss the season.
As Cominsky notes, the injuries have forced him to retire from the NFL.
Cominsky was a player who embraced everything about the Dan Campbell Lions: hard-working, humbly proud, tough as nails, smart football player. Good luck in retirement!
