The AHL has announced that Utica Comets forward Max Willman has been named Player of the Week for the period ending Apr. 6.
Willman scored four goals and added four assists in three games last week. He is now up to 10 goals and 29 points in 64 games with Utica this season.
A fifth round pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 2014, Willman scored a shorthanded goal against the Toronto Marlies on Apr. 2 before picking up a goal and three points in a win over the Springfield Thunderbirds on Apr. 4, he followed it up with a career-high four points in the rematch on Apr. 5.
The 30-year-old's efforts helped the Comets win all three games last week.
Willman has 54 goals and 118 points in 239 career AHL games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and Utica Comets. He has seven goals and 10 points in 68 career NHL games with the Philadelphia Flyers and New Jersey Devils.
The Barnstable, Mass., native will be an unrestricted free agent at season's end after signing a one-year, two-way deal with the Devils in May 2024.
