With Elliot Cadeau's departure and ensuing commitment to Michigan in the transfer portal, the North Carolina Tar Heels are in big need of a point guard for their 2025-2026 basketball season.
Seth Trimble is the likely successor for Cadeau, but he's more of a defensive-minded shooting guard. UNC also has combo guards Isaiah Denis and Derek Dixon coming in, plus 6'6 West Virginia transfer Jonathan Powell.
Hubert Davis is still busy searching for a true point guard in the portal, which is evident by recent activity over the weekend.
On Saturday, April 5, North Carolina reached out to a pair of point guard: Princeton transfer Xaivion Lee and Chattanooga's Honor Huff.
Lee, a junior, led Princeton with 16.9 points and 5.5 assists per game. The Tigers finished their season 19-11 (8-6), losing to eventual Ivy League champion Yale in the conference tournament semifinals.
Huff, also a junior, led Chattanooga to the NIT Championship over UC Irvine in an electric finish. Huff averaged 15.2 points per game, making him one of four Mocs in double-digits.
