You knew this was coming as soon as the New York Yankees hit all those home runs over the weekend: the torpedo bat is taking over MLB.
Well, not fully. But the Yanks aren't the only team trying them and there are players giving them a shot.
ESPN's Buster Olney reported on Sunday Night Baseball (see below) that the Atlanta Braves have put in an order for them, and that catcher Drake Baldwin tried one out in last year's Arizona Fall League.
What's more: Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero used one to pinch hit and got a single. So this is going to be even more of a thing, and you shouldn't be surprised.

I now count the #Rays, #BlueJays, #RedSox, #Braves and #Cubs among teams with players who have at least tried or are willing to try torpedo bats. I'm sure I've missed some others. #Yankeeshttps://t.co/jgVVAyGjeq

Yup, this is definitely a thing now.
