After a six-game road trip to begin the 2025 season, the Detroit Tigers are back home.
The Tigers (2-4) face off against the Chicago White Sox (2-4) Friday at Comerica Park, with first pitch scheduled for 1:10 pm. Right-hander Jack Flaherty (0-0) is scheduled to make his return to Detroit as the Tigers' starting pitcher, while the White Sox will send out second-year right-hander Jonathan Cannon (0-0).

Flaherty pitched effectively in his first game back with the Tigers against the Dodgers on Friday, giving up three hits and two earned runs while striking out five batters in 5 2/3 innings. Flaherty finished with a 7-5 record with a 2.95 ERA for the Tigers in his first season in Detroit in 2024 prior to his midseason trade to the Dodgers. He returns to the Comerica Park mound for the first time since July 11, when as a member of the Tigers he pitched six innings of one-run ball in a 10-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians.
Expectations are high for the Tigers in 2025, as the team finished the final two months of the 2024 regular season with a 34-19 record, vaulting them into the playoffs for the first time since 2014. The Tigers pulled off an unexpected series victory over the Houston Astros in the Wild Card round before falling to the Cleveland Guardians in the American League Division Series.
