"The Sun Comes Up Another Day" Raiders' Lukas Dragicevic Awaits Game Four In Edmonton

After a close game on Tuesday that saw the Prince Albert Raiders drop a 3-2 decision on the road against the Edmonton Oil Kings, defenseman Lucas Dragicevic is ready to help his team tie the series  back up in game 4.

"Obviously it's playoffs, we know they're going to push. We beat them pretty good in game two, we knew they were going to have a bounce back game and they did. Tonight's going to be our bounce back game, and we're ready to play."

This is not Dragicevic's first adventure into the WHL playoffs, as he tallied four assists in six games with the Tri-City Americans through the 2023 postseason.

"Every little detail matters," Dragicevic said of his run in Tri-City. "Every little thing you do on the ice matters. Yeah, I experienced something that I wanted to experience every year, obviously last year I didn't get the opportunity to.  That's why this year, when I came here, I just really wanted to push this team to playoffs. Obviously we're here now, but this still isn't good enough. We have a new level that we want to get to."

The Seattle Kraken prospect also spoke highly of the team's rookie group, praising defender Daxon Rudolph as well as forwards Ty Meunier and Riley Boychuk. "They (the forwards) have made massive strides this year. Daxon's a great player, he's grown every single game this year and you can see by his first half to his second half of the season. It's unbelievable."

As for prep heading into game four?

"Just being together, coming to the rink. The sun comes up another day. We just gotta flip the page, we've lost games this year before and that's nothing new to us, but we're just going to continue to play every game and continue to play hard and start the game off strong."

"Drago" also mentioned, post-sewerball session, that not many of the Raiders are actually good at it; just a bunch that say they are. (Namely, captain Justice Christensen.) He ended up naming himself, as well as forward Niall Crocker as the two good players on the team.

Game four takes place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night at Rogers Place.
