When the Los Angeles Lakers won eight straight games and 20 out of 24 games in February and early March, they got the job done chiefly with defense. But on Saturday, they finally started to truly tap into their vast potential on offense.
Playing against the Memphis Grizzlies, a feisty team that is one of the NBA's best on offense, the Lakers put up 134 points and shot 50.6% from the field and 44.2% from 3-point range in a seven-point win. It was a win they badly needed, as it gave them a bit of a cushion in the Western Conference. They remain in fourth place but are one full game ahead of the fifth-place Grizzlies.
On Saturday, Luka Doncic had 29 points, LeBron James scored 29 points and Austin Reaves led everyone with 31 points. Each of them had at least six rebounds and eight assists, and that production made them the first trio in NBA history to ever have at least 25 points, five rebounds and five assists each while also making two 3-pointers apiece.

L.A.'s offense will need to continue to be explosive when it goes up against the second-place Houston Rockets, who rank fourth in defensive rating, on Monday at Crypto.com Arena.
