The champion of the Augusta National Women's Amateur gets a lot more than a trophy

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Lottie Woad still hasn't taken the Augusta National Women's Amateur trophy out of the box for fear it might rust. Neither has 2022 champion Anna Davis, who said it's hidden somewhere in the family's California home.

"I don't know where it is," said Davis. "It's not like sitting out anywhere cause I think I still need to get insurance on it."

In addition to the trophy, the winner of the sixth edition of the August National Women's Amateur will receive exemptions into the next five ANWA events as well as the Chevron Championship, U.S. Women's Open, Amundi Evian Championship, AIG Women's British Open and any R&A, USGA and PGA of America amateur championship for which she is eligible for one year.

To play in the majors, the champion must remain an amateur.

Woad played in four LPGA majors last year, finishing tied for 10th at the Women's British at St. Andrews and 23rd at the Chevron. She missed the cut in the other two.

"I'd never even played in just a regular LPGA event before then. So, it was really my first time getting to test myself," said Woad. "And I definitely learned a lot. I definitely felt like I was maybe a lot closer than Ithought kind of off the Chevron and The Open. But then the other two missing the cut showed me there's still a lot that I need to work on."
