Texas A&M hosted standout Toledo transfer guard on Monday

Texas A&M basketball's future is unknown due to the newest reports that Maryland is targeting head coach Buzz Williams as a potential candidate to take over the program after Kevin Willard departed for the Villanova head coaching position. However, even if Williams is a legitimate candidate to leave, he has continued to progress in the transfer portal.

After hosting Northern Colorado transfer guard Langston Reynolds this weekend, it was revealed that Toledo transfer Sam Lewis visited College Station on Monday. The 6'6" wing is coming off his best season yet during his 2024 junior campaign. Lewis led Toledo in scoring (16.2 ppg) last season and shot an impressive 47% from the field and 44% from beyond the arc.

Texas A&M needs star power, especially with Wade Taylor IV departing the program after four seasons and the lack of consistent 3-point shooters that has continued to hinder the program's postseason success, as every team that made the 2025 Final Four possesses at least two or more reliable deep threats.

If Williams ends up staying with Texas A&M, as an answer should come sooner than later, landing Langston Reynolds and Sam Lewis would go a long way to rebuilding A&M's depleted roster several weeks before the transfer portal closes.
