Kris Boyd was signed by the New York this offseason Jets despite a bit of baggage.
Any issues with that were quickly quelled in a hilarious manner, according to Boyd.
Boyd signed a one-year deal in New York this offseason.
Boyd has spent the majority of his career as a core special teamer, only making six starts on defense in 81 career games. The 28-year-old played in 77 percent of the Houston Texans' special teams snaps last season and had that same role during the postseason against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Considering that, he'll work plenty with new special teams coordinator Chris Banjo.
That noted game against the Chiefs saw a poor moment for Boyd unfold.
As explained by our friends at Texans Wire:
Perhaps the most memorable moment of his Texans' career came following that fumble at Arrowhead Stadium. Boyd shoved Texans special teams coach Frank Ross on the sideline after committing a penalty on a kickoff during the opening drive.
The Texans downplayed the moment right after. Banjo has now done the same.
In an interview with the Jets' website, Boyd discussed meeting head coach Aaron Glenn and Banjo. According to Boyd, Banjo made a joke about the incident right away... which has made Boyd feel like he made the right choice in coming to New York.
Boyd explaining the moment with Banjo can be found in the clip below:
