South View's softball team knocked off the undefeated Gray's Creek squad, the top team in the United 8 conference, 3-0, on Thursday night, giving the Bears their first conference loss.
Earlier this season, Gray's Creek (16-2, 11-1 U8) took down the Tigers on their home field in a 3-1 effort, but this time around, South View wouldn't be denied at Eddie Dees Field, powered by junior Duke commit Jordynn Parnell, who finished with 15 strikeouts on the night.

"Yeah, I broke the record, but there's still much more to do and more to process. It feels good now, but it feels like there's a lot more that I could do," Parnell said.
Coming into tonight's performance, Jordynn needed only four strikeouts to tie the 505 career strikeouts record and five to break it, but surpassed the No. 1 spot with flying colors in her shutout win.
