Arne Slot believes Mohamed Salah's Liverpool renewal sends out a message to potential signings.
The Egypt international penned a new two-year deal on Friday which will see him reach a full decade in the Anfield frontline following several months of negotiations.
Salah becomes the first member of Slot's side to avert a potential contract expiry this summer with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold's futures unresolved.
But Slot feels that the 32-year-old's renewal can serve as a potential appeal to the Reds' prospective transfer targets as well as those already in the club's ranks.
"I think it's only positive," said Slot.
"If you want to sign new players or keep players, it's positive to see one of our star players over the last seven or eight years signing a new contract.
"It also shows how ambitious this club is, not only Mo but the owners and the ones who came last summer, to keep performing the way this club has performed for so many years now."
Slot also confirmed Alisson will be available for Sunday's Premier League visit of West Ham as Liverpool aim to maintain their current 11-point lead in the title race.
