Sixers lose Colin Castleton after 10-day ends, signs with Raptors

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia 76ers will have to figure out how to field a roster in Sunday's season finale with the Chicago Bulls. The Sixers will lose two players after Friday's 124-110 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

Jeff Dowtin Jr., on a two-way deal, played in his final game and they lost big man Colin Castleton after his 10-day deal ended.

Castleton had 16 points and eight rebounds against the Hawks as he gave the Sixers some good minutes off the bench. He will now sign a standard deal with the Toronto Raptors, a team he played for earlier in the season.

"I think that he's going to play hard," coach Nick Nurse said of Castleton after the loss. "He's going to rebound hard. He’s a pretty good passer. Got a decent feel. Just wasn't quite sure what scoring ability he had, but he obviously tipped a few in tonight. He hit a couple little kind of half hook shots in there too, which he’s going to get those against some of the rolling into the lane and stuff like that."

The Sixers will have to hope that one of Quentin Grimes, Justin Edwards, or Alex Reese--the three questionable players heading into the Hawks matchup--can return against the Bulls on Sunday. Philadelphia needs to be able to find a way to have a roster ready to roll without Dowtin and Castleton available.
