Nicola Zalewski has confirmed that he just suffered from “cramps” and not a serious injury in Inter Milan’s Serie A clash with Cagliari.
The Polish international sent out a message on his Instagram story, via FCInterNews. He added “see you Wednesday” ahead of Inter’s Champions League second leg against Bayern Munich.
Inter Milan wingback Nicola Zalewski had to come off as a substitute during this evening’s match against Cagliari.
The 23-year-old had started the match. It was in fact his first ever start for Inter.
However, Zalewski was not able to see out the entire match.
Just after the hour mark, the Pole came off as a substitute. Alessandrto Bastoni replaced him, shifting Carlos Augusto to wingback.
Nicola Zalewski Confirms “Just Cramps” In Inter Milan 3-1 Cagliari Serie A Clash
Naturally, any injury for Nicola Zalewski would hardly be ideal for Inter Milan.
The Nerazzurri still have plenty of important matches on the way. Starting with Wednesday’s Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Bayern Munich.
Inter are, for all intents and purposes, playing twice per week for the foreseeable future.
Therefore, any injury that reduces the squad depth is naturally a big blow. Particularly when it comes to a player like Zalewski who’s really starting to find his feet at the Nerazzurri.
After this evening’s match, Nicola Zalewski sent out a message on his Instagram story. “Thanks for all the messages,” he wrote. “But it’s just cramps.”
“The most important thing tonight was the three points,” the Polish international added.
