Shirley places 12th at Hoosier State Relays

The 2025 Hoosier State Relays took place on Saturday at the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.

It was the second-straight year the event took place at the new state-of-the-art track at the Fairgrounds.

The event is split in large school and small school divisions, based on football classification.

Western Boone's Lily Shirley placed 12th in the 60-meter dash in the Small School Division.

Shirley finished in 8.15 seconds, faster than her seed time of 8.21 seconds.

She was the lone representative from the Stars, who kick off their outdoor season on April 8 at Frankfort.

Zionsville had several representatives at the meet as they concluded the indoor season.

The best finish came from the girls distance medley relay.

The team of Katy Green, Omema Anyanwu, Cailyn Murphy and Katherine Bowen placed eighth in a time of 12:20.24.

Moriah Henry placed 14th in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.85. The girls 4x200 relay team of Anyanwu, Henry, Lauren Thomas and Alana Day placed 11th in a time of 1:44.07.

The Zionsville girls 4x800 team of Sara Bostwick, Marlee Phillips, Megan Race, and Letty Banwart placed 23rd in a time of 10:10.60.

The girls placed 39th as a team.

For the Zionsville boys, Micah Morris placed 23rd in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.78 seconds.

The boys 4x200 team of Zach Cook, Alex Crosby, Sam Manna and Austin Mattio placed 18th in a time of 1:31.32.

The boys 4x400 team of John Bailey, Carter Schaaf, Ben Shuster and Samuel Nefouse placed 16th in a time of 3:28.28.

The boys 4x800 team of John Bailey, Nate Corcoran, Jackson Daniel and Patrick Dimmett placed 20th in a time of 8:24.04. The boys distance medley relay team of Bailey, Jackson Daniel, Patrick Dimmett, and Camden Stockwell placed 19th in 10:44.22.

The Eagles will host the Boone County Meet on April 10.
