Billy Gilmour is expected to come into the Napoli midfield to partner international colleague Scott McTominay as Antonio Conte’s side take on Empoli in an attempt to close the gap between themselves and Inter at the top of the Serie A standings.
Kick-off is due at 19.45 GMT.
The Partenopei currently sit six points off the league leaders Inter, who beat Cagliari 3-1 in San Siro on Saturday to extend their lead at the top.
Antonio Conte is without Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, who both picked up their fifth yellow cards of the season during the 1-1 draw with Bologna last week.
With that pair out, Pasquale Mazzocchi is in line to start at right-back, with Gilmour expected to start in the midfield three alongside McTominay and Stanislav Lobotka.
Alessandro Buongiorno is out with an adductor injury, and so Juan Jesus is expected to replace him at centre-back.
Empoli are without several players through injury, the most recent being Christian Kouame, whose season is over after a cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Ardian Ismajli, Marco Silvestri, Youssef Maleh, Tino Anjorin and Pietro Pellegri are also unavailable.
