Seahawks draft dominant WR in latest 2025 NFL mock draft

The Seattle Seahawks traded superstar wide receiver DK Metcalf to the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this offseason after he demanded a trade. General manager John Schneider replaced him by signing veteran wideout Cooper Kupp. There are some concerns that Kupp and Jaxon Smith-Njigba possess similar skill sets, and neither player can replicate what Metcalf did as the "X" receiver on the boundary.

Lane Zierlein of NFL.Com apparently has a solution. In his latest 2025 NFL mock draft, Zierlein has the Seahawks selecting former Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan at No. 18 overall.

"The signings of Cooper Kupp and Marquez Valdes-Scantling should not prevent the Seahawks from adding a talented wideout to help smooth the transition for new quarterback Sam Darnold," Zierlein wrote. "They still need guard help, but that will have to come later."

McMillan was dominant for the Wildcats this past season, producing 84 receptions for 1,319 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. The big-bodied playmaker measured in at 6-foot-4 and 219 pounds at the NFL Combine. At Arizona's Pro Day, he reportedly ran a 4.55-second 40 yard dash, answering scouts' questions about his long speed.

McMillan has widely been projected as a top-10 selection, but his overall profile has led to a more complicated evaluation. The Seahawks desperately need to draft offensive linemen early and often. If McMillan remains surprisingly available at No. 19 overall, Schneider would have to consider pouncing.
