Rory McIlroy’s frustrated reaction after missing Masters-winning putt on the 18th hole said it all

Rory McIlroy had it in his hands. With just one successful putt on the 18th hole at the 2025 Masters, McIlroy would've finally gotten the monkey off his back. He would've finally won his first-ever Masters and completed a career Grand Slam.

Alas, with McIlroy, it clearly can never be easy.

While nursing a one-stroke lead, McIlroy was just off on his Masters-winning putt. He truly was that close to finally climbing the metaphorical mountain at Augusta. The miss set up a thrilling playoff with Justin Rose. Although, judging by McIlroy's frustrated reaction, I'm not so sure he was thrilled about going to a playoff:

Oof. For McIlroy's sake, here's hoping the playoff has a better result.
