RIDGEWOOD - Ridgewood's first divisional match was packed with lead changes and drama.
In the end, senior Jack Frers made sure that the Maroons had just enough offense to prevail in a high-powered Gibbs Division boys lacrosse battle. The senior scored a team-high five goals including three in the final quarter to push No. 2 Ridgewood past No. 4 Bergen Catholic, 10-9.
Frers scored the go-ahead goal with 2:35 to go, then drew a penalty that helped Ridgewood (2-1) kill off the remaining time.
Ardem Sarajian went 14-for-21 on the draw to give Ridgewood plenty of extra possessions.
