Rick Tocchet Establishes A New Franchise Record During 100th Regular Season Victory With The Canucks
Rick Tocchet is officially a Vancouver Canucks record-holder. With his win on Wednesday, Tocchet became the fastest coach in franchise history to record 100 regular season wins. Tocchet achieved the feat in 183 games, which is one fewer than Alain Vigneault, who hit the mark in his 184th game behind the bench.

Previewing The Canucks’ Weekend Back-To-Back
As for league history, Tocchet is tied for 46th when it comes to fastest to 100 wins with a single franchise. The other four coaches he is tied with are Ken Hitchcock (Dallas Stars), Darryl Sutter (L.A. Kings), Bob Hartley (Colorado Avalanche) and John Hynes (Nashville Predators). Tocchet is also the eighth coach in franchise history to record 100 regular season wins, while his .612 points percentage ranks second behind Vigneault.
With 17 games remaining, Tocchet has a chance to climb the franchise list for regular season wins. He needs three more to pass Bob McCammon and an additional 10 to pass Willie Desjardins. As for the postseason, Tocchet sits sixth in franchise history with seven victories and would move past Travis Green into fifth if the Canucks make the second round.
Tocchet will be eyeing win number 101 on Saturday when Vancouver takes on the Chicago Blackhawks. This will be the first of a weekend back-to-back, which will see the Utah Hockey Club visit Rogers Arena on Sunday. Puck drop for Saturday is scheduled for 7:00 pm PT.
