Reyne Smith injury update: Louisville guard exits Creighton game after hurting ankle
Creighton had already been giving Louisville basketball all it could handle in Thursday's first round of the 2025 men's NCAA Tournament.
Then, the No. 8 seeded Cardinals were handed injury to insult at the game played at Rupp Arena in Lexington. With 11:37 left in the second half, guard Reyne Smith was helped off the court after aggravating an ankle injury.

Reyne Smith injury update
Smith had five points on 1-of-5 shooting from 3-point range in 20 minutes at the time of his injury. The Cardinals were trailing Creighton 65-52 with 11:37 left in the second half. Smith had a towel wrapped around his head and received assistance walking off the court.
He left the court to a standing ovation from distraught Louisville fans, showing his importance to the program. Smith appeared to sustain his injury following a 3-point attempt, during which he landed on the foot of Creighton's Ryan Kalkbrenner.
Smith was down on the court immediately, and trainers came to check on him.

Smith was playing in his first game since March 5 due to an ankle issue.
