Recap of the Ravens' major offseason additions after the first wave of free agency
The Baltimore Ravens weren't overly active during the first few days of NFL free agency. Still, the team added a future Hall of Fame wide receiver to the passing game and a versatile linebacker to the special teams. The Ravens retained Ronnie Stanley, Patrick Ricard, and Tylan Wallace, while the restructure of Marlon Humphrey created $13 million in salary cap space.
Even with the inactivity and loss of five key contributors or starters, the team is still in the midst of a Super Bowl window and has 11 2025 NFL draft picks to help restock.
With the second wave of free agency underway, we're recapping the most significant additions through wave one.
Signed free agent LB Jake Hummel
After losing Malik Harrison and Chris Board, Baltimore landed Jake Hummel in free agency. Hummel had eight special teams tackles for the Los Angeles Rams in 2024 and blocked a punt that led to a touchdown. The 26-year-old Hummel, who played in every game for Los Angeles last season, spent three years with the Rams after being undrafted in 2022 out of Iowa State and making their 53-man roster.
Hummel played 77% of the Rams' special teams snaps last season and 80% in 2023.
Signed unrestricted free agent WR DeAndre Hopkins
After a slow start to the legal tampering period, the Ravens are on the board after agreeing to a one-year, $6 million deal with wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowler, and Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson have previously discussed what it would be like to play together. Now, Hopkins gives the Ravens a dependable weapon to pair alongside Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman. The future Hall of Famer has caught over 100 receptions in four seasons and compiled 984 catches for 12,965 yards and 83 touchdowns over 13 years.
