After an embarassing 3-0 loss to Arsenal in midweek, the morale in the Real Madrid camp has hit rock bottom.

Unless Real Madrid make a solid turnaround in the second round, the club’s hopes of retaining the Champions League title looks quite bleak.

Real Madrid’s morale hasn’t been helped by the fact that Carlo Ancelotti’s future has come under the microscope, with many expecting him to leave the club sooner rather than later.

Florentino Perez visits the Valdebebas

In the midst of such uncertainty, Florentino Perez has visited the Valdebebas to check up on Real Madrid players, reports Josep Pedrerol.

The El Chiringuito presenter adds that everyone was happy to see Perez visiting the Valdebebas despite low morale in the camp.

As a matter of fact, Real Madrid believe they can do a comeback against Arsenal in the second leg and advance through to the semifinals.

It must be noted that Real Madrid have made such comebacks in the past, and that too, against tougher opponents.

However, given the way Arsenal remained strong and sturdy in the first leg, making such a comeback looks difficult unless the likes of Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe can produce outstanding performances.

The attacking duo has mostly remained quiet in key matches for Real Madrid this season, even though Mbappe is enjoying a great run of form since the turn of the year.

At the same time, the Real Madrid must also approach the game with caution and cannot concede silly free-kicks, knowing Declan Rice is more than capable of converting any opportunity that comes his way.

Florentino Perez’s visit to the camp will certainly motivate the players. Recent reports also suggest that Real Madrid are planning to make an emotional video to fire up the team ahead of the second leg tie.
