Real Madrid Droping Interest in Lazio’s €30M-Rated Marquee Ace Opens Door for PSG
Paris Saint-Germain have slowly made changes to its center-back position, adding Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho last year. Nonetheless, could this summer be an opportunity to add another young defender to the core?
The Parisians are counting on Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe, and Lucas Hernandez. However, the Brazilian is in his mid-30s while Kimpembe and Hernandez have battled injuries. As a result, PSG need to keep molding this position and injecting more youth into the position.
While there are rumors linking PSG to Liverpool standout Virgil van Dijk, his age might be the deciding factor, leading to the capital club to pursue a young center-back option.
PSG have its eyes on another defender this summer
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport(h/t Paris Fans), PSG are interested in Mario Gila, the 24-year-old right-back from Lazio, with a price tag of €30 million expected.
Gila has been strongly linked with a potential return to Real Madrid. After selling him to Lazio for €6 million, Los Merengues kept a 50 percent sell-on fee, which would turn into a discount if they decided to bring him back.
Nonetheless, according to Il Messaggero (h/t The Laziali), the European champions are no longer interested in signing the Biancocelesti defender.
