Fabrizio Romano Drops Key Update on Liverpool, PSG Target With Major Real Madrid Implications
Paris Saint-Germain showed interest in Dean Huijsen last summer as part of their defensive rebuild, but the Spanish center-back ultimately joined AFC Bournemouth. If PSG decides to pursue him again, they’ll face tough competition.
While PSG bolstered their defense by signing Willian Pacho, Milan Skriniar is expected to make his loan to Fenerbahçe permanent, which could leave them searching for another center-back this summer.
Huijsen has impressed in the Premier League with consistent performances, earning praise and catching the attention of several top clubs.
If PSG views him as the solution to their defensive needs, they’ll have a fight on their hands. However, any club looking to sign the young defender this summer may have to meet a set asking price.
Fabrizio Romano provides new update on Dean Huijsen
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported Wednesday that Huijsen’s £50 million release clause will be active this summer. The clause has no restrictions, allowing any club to trigger it, and interest in the defender is already gaining momentum.

TEAMtalk previously reported, citing sources, that Liverpool are stepping up their interest in Huijsen, as the defender fits three key criteria for Arne Slot’s squad: age, ability, and availability—making him an attractive target.
However, the report also notes that Bournemouth will demand his full release clause be met, though they would prefer to keep him for a few more seasons.
A recent report from CaughtOffside says that Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG are all eyeing 19-year-old Huijsen.
