Reaction to Texas women earning NCAA Tournament No. 1 seed: 'Dancing in Moody'
The only question for Texas women's basketball after the Southeastern Conference tournament was if they would earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. That question was answered on Selection Sunday, as the Longhorns earned the top seed in the Birmingham region. They'll face either High Point or William and Mary in the first round, with the winner of Illinois and Creighton awaiting them.
There was stiff competition for the No. 1 seeds, with South Carolina, UCLA and USC earning the other three. UConn was the other team that had a case for a top seed, though Texas' tougher conference schedule is likely what pushed them over the edge.

"Obviously it's beneficial they play in the SEC and UConn plays in a weak Big East," ESPN analyst Charlie Creme said Wednesday. "I think what it boils down to is Texas just has a lot more quality wins and the schedules are very compatible. UConn's nonconference schedule was better. Texas, obviously, the rest of the season is much better. So maybe it's a thin slice of the pie here making Texas No. 1, but I think with all those Quad 1 wins, it's hard to go in any other direction."
Texas has three losses, one to No. 3 seed Notre Dame and two to South Carolina, though it won when Dawn Staley's team visited the Moody Center. Here are some reactions to the Longhorns' seeding.
Texas is a shaky No. 1 seed. I have so many questions about them.

The NCAA Tournament awards Texas a No. 1 seed and the Longhorns will host either High Point or William and Mary in the first round. Illinois and Creighton are also coming to Austin.

I mean… best case scenario no? Revenge against TCU, Texas playing like the weakest #1 team ever as of late. Iowa State/Michigan second round is no cakewalk tho
