Prep Roundup: West Limestone explodes to beat Lexington
Mar. 22—LEXINGTON — West Limestone scored 12 runs in the top of the fourth inning on Friday, blowing open a close game en route to an 18-2 win over Lexington in high school baseball.
Preston Moore led the Wildcats offense with three hits, including a double, and four RBIs. Jasper Griffin had a hit and two RBIs for West Limestone and Hayden Hill drove in two runs.
Jayden Burford got the start and worked four innings for the win, allowing two runs on two hits with seven strikeouts. Hill pitched a scoreless fifth inning to close out the game, allowing one walk with a pair of strikeouts.

Athens 13, Decatur 4: Luke Vaughan went 3-for-4 with three RBIs in a big area win for Athens on Friday.
Brady Johnston had three hits and two RBIs for the Golden Eagles, while Hudson Marks added four hits, including a double, and one RBI. Marks pitched all seven innings for the win, striking out six.
Harris Penley had two hits, including a double, and one RBI for Decatur and Ben Strickland drove in two runs.

Decatur Heritage 17, St. John Paul II 7: Ford Sparkman homered, singled and drove in six runs for Decatur Heritage on Friday.
Rafer Jones had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs for the Eagles, while Olsen Howard added two hits and one RBI. Jones pitched three innings for the win, striking out three.

Lindsay Lane 10, Section 0: Grayson Miller had three hits, including a home run, drove in five runs and pitched five scoreless innings to lead Lindsay Lane to a big win on Friday.
Miller also doubled and singled for the Lions, while allowing just one hit with six strikeouts on the mound. Bryson McMullin singled and drove in two runs, while Lane Jones added a pair of hits and one RBI.

Elkmont 15, Athens Bible School 0: Corder Hobbs homered twice and drove in seven runs for Elkmont on Friday.
Lincoln Doner had a pair of hits, including a home run, and three RBIs for the Red Devils and Jake Guthrie went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Jake Hargrove pitched five innings for the win, allowing one hit and three walks while striking out five.
Ryan Faust singled to account for Athens Bible's only hit.

McKenzie Doner had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs and Savannah Williams doubled and drove in two runs. Woodfin pitched four shutout innings for the win, allowing one hit while striking out six.
