PFF breaks down Falcons' best fit on Day 3 of 2025 NFL draft

The 2025 NFL draft isn't overly top-heavy, which bodes well for the Atlanta Falcons. After four consecutive years of drafting in the top 10, the team landed the 15th overall pick following an 8-9 finish to the 2024 NFL season.

Outside of Round 1, the Falcons only have four picks and two are in the seventh round. With that in mind, it will be more important than ever for the team to find talent on Days 2 and 3. Atlanta's recent draft visits have focused on mid-to-late-round prospects.

Pro Football Focus released a feature highlighting the best Day 3 fits for all 32 NFL teams. Alabama edge rusher Que Robinson was labeled the Falcons' best Day 3 fit. While PFF doesn't think the Crimson Tide standout would fix Atlanta's pass rush, Mason Cameron thinks he could be a good start.

"Atlanta won't fix its pass rush overnight, so taking multiple draft swings at edge rusher should be in the cards," wrote PFF's Mason Cameron. "Que Robinson has all the tools to win as a pass rusher at the next level, and his metrics — including an insane 24% pass-rush win rate — agree. So, why isn’t he a first-rounder? He clocked just 370 defensive snaps across his college career, a byproduct of being buried on the roster behind players such as future first-rounders Will Anderson Jr. and Dallas Turner."

Atlanta previously hosted Robinson on a top-30 draft visit, and the team definitely needs help along the edge. Alabama has been a consistent pipeline to the NFL for over a decade. That should be the case again in 2025, but Robinson lacks the experience to warrant an early draft selection.

Last season, Robinson recorded a pass-rushing grade of 90.3 in limited snaps. His length and athleticism allow him to be a consistent source of pressure. He needs more refinement, but that's to be expected considering his lack of experience.

The Falcons did not re-sign veteran Matthew Judon in free agency, signing Leonard Floyd as a replacement. However, adding Floyd isn't enough to fix the pass rush and the team must find some young talent to build around on defense.

The 2025 NFL draft is less than two weeks away, starting on Thursday, April 24.
