Pay increases, new titles for Georgia football support staffers
Two Georgia football support staffers who are former power conference coordinators have new titles and saw their salaries jump.
Former Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Andrew Thacker and former Clemson offensive coordinator Brandon Steeter are now senior football analysts.
Thacker, who also now coaches the nickel backs, saw his pay rise to $400,000 from $43,888, according to information obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald in an open records request.
Streeter will make $225,000 annually, up from $74,880.
Thacker was previously assistant quality control coordinator for defense. Streeter was an offensive analyst.
Thacker’s previous salary at Georgia was money that Georgia Tech did not have to pay as part of his buyout under a term sheet that ran through Jan. 31, 2025. Now he’s paid nearly as much as running backs coach Josh Crawford who makes $453,000 a year after taking on coaching duties with the Bulldogs as permitted now under NCAA rules.
Thacker was Georgia Tech defensive coordinator from 2019 until Oct. 1, 2023, coached safeties until the end of that season and left that staff in January 2024.
Streeter was owed just over $1.85 million as a buyout when he was fired in January of 2023. That number was reduced by the amount Streeter made at Georgia through Jan. 31, 2025.
Streeter and Thacker’s new salaries took effect Feb. 1.
Georgia has also added former Tennessee and Alabama analyst Garrett Cox and former Bulldog player Prather Hudson as assistant quality control coordinators. Hudson was previously defensive graduate assistant.
