PAWTUCKET − Rhode Island Football Club says that on Tuesday it will announce the name of its new stadium off Taft Street on the Seekonk River just south of downtown.
The team has scheduled a 1 p.m. press conference in the Premium Club area of the new stadium overlooking the pitch at midfield.
Team co-founder and chairman Brett M. Johnson will be joined by local politicians and team officials at the announcement.
As construction continued over the last several years, the stadium has been known by a placeholder name, the Stadium at Tidewater Landing. The stadium is at the intersection of Taft and Tidewater Streets.
