Patriots drop QB Drake Maye's basketball reel during March Madness
With March Madness and the NCAA Tournament in full swing, the New England Patriots dropped a highlight reel video of quarterback Drake Maye's basketball days.
Many view Maye as the next great young quarterback, but he was also incredibly talented on the hardwood as well.
The former North Carolina product averaged 12 points, 2.3 assists and 7.9 rebounds per game for Myers Park High School, according to statistics from Maxpreps.com. He played as a forward on the floor, and he put together his career-best season as a junior, averaging 16.1 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.
In the end, he chose to put all of his focus into football, which obviously worked out well for him.

The Patriots selected Maye with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft in hopes of him serving as the foundational piece for their rebuild.
If the first year was any indication, it's safe to say both Maye and the Patriots made the right choice.
