Panthers TE and ex-college basketball player Colin Granger has a football 'highlight reel'

The Carolina Panthers have signed up for an interesting little (or perhaps big) project.

As announced this afternoon, the team has officially added Colin Granger, a former Division I basketball player, to their roster as a tight end.

Monday's release from the Panthers notes that this will be Granger's "first foray" into football, which follows a five-year collegiate career as a power forward on the hardwood.

But this foray won't be the first time the 6-foot-9, 225-pound athlete has tested out the gridiron.

Here, in a video posted by Digital Loc on YouTube less than two weeks ago, is Granger showing off some of his early chops as a pass catcher:

Granger split his five college basketball seasons between Ohio University (2020 to 2022), Western Carolina University (2022 to 2024) and Coastal Carolina University (2024 to 2025).

Over 120 total games, he averaged 3.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per contest.
