Transfers and the portal are now just a part of a college football program's DNA now. But not all transfers are equal. Some are hits and some are definitely misses. When it comes to former Nevada and now Oregon offensive lineman Isaiah World, everything indicates he's going to be a huge hit for the Ducks.
In an article published by For The Win, writer Patrick Conn says World is one of those transfers that could affect the outcome of next season's college football playoff.
"As the Ducks begin their big to repeat as Big Ten champs, World figures to be a major contributor," Conn said. "He will be tasked with protecting (quarterback Dante) Moore's blindside in 2025 and giving him time to find Evan Stewart and others."
World is the only offensive lineman listed among the 12 transfers, making him the country's most important offensive line transfer. At 6-foot-8 and 303 pounds, World figures to be a major contributor this season in an offensive line that will have a few new faces this season.
Conn says World will be protecting Moore's blindside, a position that will become more important this season. The Ducks' previous quarterbacks have been mobile, but Moore is more of a pocket passer, so protecting him can't be an issue if Oregon wants to go where it thinks they can go.
The Ducks' success will be largely determined on how quickly the offensive line gels and forms chemistry. The quicker the better.
