Ohio State basketball tops Montana State in March Madness, advances to NCAA second round
The Ohio State women's basketball team used a strong second half to defeat Montana State 71-51 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday at Value City Arena.
The fourth-seeded Buckeyes (26-6) will play at home on Sunday against the winner of Friday's late game between Tennessee and South Florida. The time for Sunday's game has not been announced.
Taylor Thierry scored 16 points to lead the Buckeyes on Friday. Cotie McMahon and Chance Gray had 15 each.
Montana, a playing in its fourth NCAA Tournament, finished 30-4.
The Buckeyes led 32-27 at halftime, led by 10 points by McMahon.
