Notre Dame expands alcohol sales at home games

Notre Dame fans will find it a bit easier to get a beer at football games next year. And at basketball and hockey games, too.

That's because the university has announced that, beginning in the fall, fans attending home football, basketball and hockey games will be able to purchase alcoholic beverages in the general admission seating areas.

Previously, only fans in premium seating could buy alcohol.

The school's announcement doesn't specify what type of alcohol will be available, but we'd guess the options will be the same as what was available in the premium seats, and it's a safe bet beer will be on the menu.

Notre Dame says this will modernize the fan experience.
