Florida State played host to approximately a dozen recruits for the Seminoles' scrimmage on Saturday. Class of 2026 linebacker prospect Noah LaVallee was among those in attendance. LaVallee, whose older, Caleb, transferred to FSU this offseason, spoke with the Osceola to give an update on his recruitment.
LaVallee answered a variety of questions after practice:
On his impression of linebackers coach John Papuchis: "Just how smart he is and just how the players respect and listen to him and how just taking advice from him, you can tell as practice went on, they (the linebackers) improved, so just really great to see. We've got a strong relationship. We've been building it for a pretty long period of time now."
On how FSU's uses its linebackers: "He (defensive coordinator Tony White) wants to play fast, and physical linebackers. And I feel like it shows, especially (since) a lot of their linebackers are fast and physical and emphasizing on just finishing on the ball carrier and the most important thing at the end of the day is getting guys on the ground and I feel they did a really good job of that."
On what is brother has told him about his first three months at FSU: "Just that he loves it and I can't be more happy for him. This is a place he belongs at, just telling me how they're real here and they're not going to sugarcoat anything. That's important throughout this whole process is just find the real things."
LaVallee also said he would like to announce his commitment prior to the start of his senior season. He also said that he will take official visits to FSU, Ole Miss and Kansas this summer but he hasn't set definitive dates for those visits.
Other prospects to attend practice on Saturday
Gordon was the highest priority recruit and will continue his visit throughout the afternoon. He went straight from practice to a tour of campus. He was offered by FSU in November after an unofficial visit for the Charleston Southern game and quickly decommitted from UCF once Gus Malzahn resigned to take the Seminoles' offensive coordinator's job.
A win here for FSU would be to lock down an official visit date before he leaves campus. He is already scheduled visits to Oklahoma State, UNC, Ole Miss and Florida.
Sharp was back on campus for his second unofficial visit in the three months. He has an official visit set with FSU for the weekend of June 6. He will also take official visits to UCF and WVU.
