When the Eagles signed Avery Williams to a one-year deal, the idea was that he'd replace Britain Covey as the primary kick and punt returner. He even hinted at an underutilized athlete having a potential role as a change-of-pace player on offense.

Williams had 22 carries for ATL – in 2022 – and hasn't carried since. Also played CB for ATL in '21.
Williams, 26, was the Falcons' fifth-round selection out of Boise State in the 2021 NFL Draft. After joining the Falcons, Williams switched from cornerback to running back.
Last season with Atlanta, Williams saw action in all 17 games, logging 22 rushing attempts for 109 yards, one touchdown, and 13 receptions for 61 yards. Williams is most efficient as a return man. In 2024, he returned 20 punts for 185 yards and 15 kickoffs for 408 yards.
