NFL world reacts to the Bears extending CB Kyler Gordon

The Chicago Bears are keeping one of their key defensive players for the next few seasons. According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Bears are signing cornerback Kyler Gordon to a three-year extension worth up to $40 million with $31.25 million guaranteed.

Gordon, a second-round selection out of Washington in the 2022 NFL Draft, was Ryan Poles' first draft pick as Bears general manager. After moving around the secondary during his rookie season, Gordon settled in as the team's nickel cornerback, where he showed an innate ability to make plays at the line of scrimmage.

Through three seasons, Gordon has totaled five interceptions, two forced fumbles, 1.5 sacks, and nine tackles for loss while becoming one of the better nickel corners in the league. He's an integral member of the secondary and will be counted on going forward, along with fellow cornerback Jaylon Johnson, in Dennis Allen's new defense.

Poles previously stated that extending Gordon was a priority for the team as he entered the final year of his rookie deal, so this felt like a move that was going to happen at some point this offseason. Now that it's all but official, Bears fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Here is how social media reacted to the news:
