New Orleans Saints waive defensive tackle who signed with the team just last year
The New Orleans Saints have made only a few roster moves this offseason when it comes to letting players go, with the only direct release being running back Jamaal Williams back on March 4. However, they have lost some free agents as well, which has made this a somewhat up-and-down start to the 2025 league year.
Their most recent roster moves were making the deal with wide receiver Dante Pettis official, and waiving defensive tackle Camron Peterson, a 2024 free agent signing who remained with the team throughout the year. The Southern University product did not get any playing time during the regular season with the Saints, and would only play a total of 26 snaps during the preseason, picking up a tackle when on the field. He suffered an early-season injury and spent the year on injured reserve.
With how deep the Saints' interior defensive line has been at times, even if some players were not exceptional ahead of him, it would have been immensely difficult for Peterson to grab any snaps during 2025. Instead, he will now head to waivers where he could be claimed by a new team.
