New Jersey Devils Recall Seamus Casey From Utica Comets

The New Jersey Devils announced they have recalled defensemen Seamus Casey from their AHL affiliate Utica Comets. 

Casey has three goals and 18 points in 30 AHL games as a rookie this season. He has four goals and one assist in 10 NHL games with the Devils this season while averaging 11:57 of ice time per game. He represented the North Division at the 2025  AHL All-Star Classic. 

The 21-year-old is a talented offensive defenseman who recorded 15 goals and 74 points in 75 NCAA games with the Michigan Wolverines. He was named to the Big Ten All-Rookie Team in 2023, the Big Ten First All-Star Team and the First Team West All-American Team in 2024. 

Originally selected in the second round of the 2022 draft, Casey captured the gold medal and led the tournament in assists by defensemen with Team USA at the 2024 World Junior Championship.
