The No. 20 Huskers (25-8, 5-1) played host to Purdue (17-15, 2-6) in a three-game conference series starting on Saturday. Nebraska started the series on a high note, delivering another five-inning victory to knock off the Boilermakers 13-1.
The Huskers outhit Purdue 13-2 in the win, with three home runs, scoring 13 straight runs before the Boilermakers got on the board. Nebraska put the game away in the second by scoring seven runs, despite not hitting a single home run in the inning.
Kacie Hoffman finished 3-for-3 with a career-high four RBIs and two home runs in the win, hitting a solo shot in the third and a three-run homer in the fourth.
Olivia DiNardo also hit a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs, while Ava Kuszak delivered three RBIs through a double, a home run, and a walk to go 2-for-3.Ava Bredwell and Samantha Bland each hit 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Jordyn Bahl (14-3) finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs while throwing a complete game. She fired eight strikeouts and allowed two hits and no earned runs with Purdue scoring off a sacrificial fly.
This five-inning win is Nebraska's 16th run-rule victory of the season and is one away from tying the school record set in 2015.
The Huskers continue their series against Purdue on Sunday night. The first pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. CT on Big Ten Network.
