Nashville (2-1-1, seven points) hosts CF Montreal at Geodis Park with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. CT. Coach B.J. Callaghan's team is in good form with consecutive wins over the Portland Timbers and Philadelphia Union as it returns home to face a struggling opponent.
Montreal (0-3-1, one point) hasn't scored since its season opener, though it picked up a point last week with a scoreless draw against D.C. United.
Nashville would have its best start in its MLS history, in terms of points, with a win or tie against Montreal. In 2021, Nashville was unbeaten through five games, with one win and four draws (seven points), and didn't lose until its eighth game of the season.
Nashville has never had much trouble with Montreal — in nine games, NSC is 5-1-3 and has outscored Montreal 13-6.
Both teams will be somewhat shorthanded Saturday due to the FIFA international window. Nashville's Matthew Corcoran (United States), Jacob Shaffelburg (Canada), Andy Najar (Honduras) and Xavier Valdez (Dominican Republic) are representing their countries, as is Montreal's Joel Waterman (Canada).
