With the former Sassuolo midfielder seemingly on the verge of departure from the Nerazzurri as he struggles to find regular playing time under Simone Inzaghi, Napoli are set to enter a full-pledged pursuit for Italian international Davide Frattesi.
FabrizioRomano reports, via CalcioNapoli1926, Antonio Conte is eager to bring the 25-year-old to the Partenopei ahead of next season, injecting his side with an increase of flair and vibrancy on the counter towards goal.
So far this season, the former Nerroverdi midfielder has made a total of six starts under coach Simone Inzaghi. Despite his struggles to consistently crack into the Biscione’s starting XI, Frattesi was a game-changer off the bench, as he tallied five goals and one assist in 24 games-played in the Serie A.
Davide Frattesi proved pivotal as a super-sub after having most recently silenced the Allianz Stadium in the dying moments of against Bayern Munich after coming on in the 74th minute of play, slotting home a brilliant finish in courtesy of a fine delivery from Brazilian wing-back Carlos Augusto to hand the Nerazzurri a 2-1 advantage on aggregate heading into the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
As it stands, Inter have placed a heavy price tag between the region of €35m-€40m for the Italian international, who is tipping towards the exit door as he struggled to fit within the former Lazio boss’ tactical system, hence the Nerazzurri acquiring promising Croat Petar Sučić ahead of the upcoming campaign.
