Simone Inzaghi admits he ‘got angry’ with one of his Inter players during the 3-1 victory over Cagliari, but hails Marko Arnautovic. ‘We go into the Bayern Munich tie with a lot of confidence.’
The Nerazzurri once again were dominant in the first half, leading 2-0 through a Marko Arnautovic goal and his assist for the dinked Lautaro Martinez finish.
Considering Arnautovic was close to the bench at that moment, Inzaghi grabbed him for a bear hug, while Marcus Thuram kicked the Austrian playfully up the backside.
“Arnautovic did so well, he had a great performance today. Lautaro finished it off, but Arna did most of the work on that goal with the assist,” Inzaghi told DAZN.

Once more, they came out for the restart too sluggishly and allowed Roberto Piccoli a free header, but there was no comeback this time, as Yann Bisseck’s towering header sealed the 3-1 result.
“We really cared about this match and knew it would not be easy. We got distracted for their goal, but the team remained concentrated for the rest of the game. We continue this journey, it’s a struggle, but it makes us proud.
“Last season we played 49 games in total, this year we’re already on 48 and it’s only April 12. It is a very heavy season, but we must adjust and are doing so with everyone sacrificing themselves to help.”

Yet Inzaghi was also infuriated with Thuram late on for giving away the ball and sparking a Cagliari counter-attack.
