Thomas Müller has said that there is no bad blood between him and Bayern Munich after the club announced he will have to leave after 25 years.
Müller, in a video on Monday on his Instagram account, also urged fans to rally behind the team in Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final against Inter Milan to help them reach the May 31 final in their home stadium.
Bayern announced on Saturday that they would not renew Müller's contract, citing future squad planning. Müller, 35, said on Instagram the same day he wanted to stay on but that he respected the decision.
He added in Monday's video from the training ground: "Nothing negative will remain between me and the club. We are looking ahead and are on the same page.
"You don't always have to be in agreement in life to surf the same wave. We have common goals and common interests. We can look each other in the eyes and have a positive outlook."
Müller thanked the fans for their appreciation during his career which started in the first team in 2008, with now a club record 743 games, and counting, and 33 trophies.
"It means a lot to me that you liked a little bit what I did on the football pitch and off it," he said.
Looking at the duel with Inter, he said: "That is what really matters, what occupies us as a team, and what occupies me most. Where we will need you, all the Bayern fans."
Müller has played only sporadically this season but there have been many calls that he should start on Tuesday in place of Jamal Musiala who is out for several weeks with a hamstring injury.
