'Mixed feelings' for Cifuentes after Leeds draw
QPR head coach Marti Cifuentes said he had "mixed feelings" after his side surrendered a 2-0 lead at home to Leeds United.
The Rs ended a run of four straight defeats with a 2-2 draw against the Championship leaders in the early kick-off on Saturday.
Goals from Koki Saito and skipper Steve Cook put the Hoops in control but Morgan Fox's own goal shortly before half time gave the visitors hope.
Right-back Jayden Bogle equalised shortly after the break and that was how the score remained, with Saito shown a straight red card for a late tackle in the closing stages.
"Mixed feelings today. Definitely from one side we are disappointed to not take the three points after taking a lead of 2-0," Cifuentes told BBC Radio London after the game.
"But I'm aware that we play[ed] against a very good team, the best in the league, so the feeling is that we competed at a very high level against a great team, so I'm very proud of the guys.
"We spoke about how important it was to start the game strong and create an atmosphere with our fans, I think there was an urgency and standard that we want in every game of the season."
'We suffered and showed character' - Andersen
Danish midfielder Lucas Andersen was in the starting line-up for the first time since December, having scored in QPR's 4-0 win against the same opposition at Loftus Road last season.
The 30-year-old was replaced by Nicolas Madsen after 84 minutes with the score level.
"It's always important to score the first goal and I think the way we did it, we tried to push forward and press them and we tried to get in behind when we had the chance," Andersen said.
"That first goal felt at an important moment. We knew set pieces would be important today, especially in the first half.
"Leeds is a very good side and they showed their quality in the second half, where we suffered a bit but we came through towards the end and I think that shows what character there in this team as well."
QPR travel to Stoke City after the international break on 29 March.
