Michael Gallup signs with Commanders instead of the Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks are always remaining active in free agency, refusing to leave any stone unturned. That is why they hosted recently un-retired former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup for a free agent visit. The 29-year-old was briefly a member of the Las Vegas Raiders last year before abruptly retiring in July. Now he is aiming to make his NFL comeback.
However, he won't be doing it as a Seattle Seahawk. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting Gallup will sign with the other Washington... the Washington Commanders, that is.

We at Seahawks Wire advocated for Seattle to roll the dice on Gallup, signing him to provide depth to the team's wide receiver corps. He has not been the same since his ACL injury, but the Seahawks wouldn't have been relying on him to be a top contributor. Instead, he will be playing with a former division rival.
The move signifies another by a Commanders team ready to take the next step to become a legitimate contender in the NFC. Washington surprised the NFL with their 12-5 record (most wins in a single season by the franchise since 1991, and first winning record since 2016) and trip to the NFC Championship. Their magic carpet ride came to screeching halt at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles, who routed them to the tune of 55-23 en route to their eventual dominant Super Bowl LIX victory.
While Gallup may have been an intriguing option/gamble, it's hard to be too upset (if at all) that he decided to not sign with the Seahawks. Overall, Seattle has made several splashes in the free agent market with Sam Darnold, Cooper Kupp and another former Dallas Cowboy in DeMarcus Lawrence.
