Masters 2025: Bryson DeChambeau goes on early birdie run to shoot 68 Friday

Bryson DeChambeau made four first-nine birdies Friday to vault up the leaderboard in the second round of the 89th Masters at Augusta National Golf Club.

After a two-putt birdie at the par-5 second, DeChambeau holed a bunker shot at the par-3 fourth to reach 5 under for the tournament.

The reigning U.S. Open champion followed that with a 7-foot birdie putt at the par-4 fifth to get into solo second place and within two shots of leader Justin Rose.

DeChambeau's deficit was cut to one when he birdied the par-5 eighth and parred the ninth to turn in 32.

Though he couldn't maintain the momentum on the second nine, DeChambeau carded one birdie and one bogey for an overall 68. At 7 under par, he is one back of leader Justin Rose.
