March Madness: Heading to Indy to cheer on Vols in Sweet 16? Where to stay, eat and park
Tennessee basketball has made it to its third straight Sweet 16. The team is now headed to Indianapolis for the Midwest Regional.
The No. 2 seed Vols beat No. 7 seed UCLA 67-58 in the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Continuing its quest to reach their first Final Four in program history, Tennessee will play next on March 28 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
This is the 11th time the Vols have reached the Sweet 16. They’ve only advanced to the Elite Eight twice.
If you’re looking to cheer on the Vols at the Midwest Regional semis (and finals), here’s what you need to know about getting to Indianapolis, stadium parking and celebrating Tennessee’s wins.
How much are the Tennessee Sweet 16 tickets?
Tickets to the Sweet 16 games at Lucas Oil Stadium are sold via Ticketmaster. Tickets for the March 28 session were starting at $150 and tickets for the March 30 session were starting at $125 as of March 21.
All session tickets were as low as $444 as of March 21.
Tickets are available via third-party sites, too. Single session tickets are starting at $127 via StubHub, $137 via Vivid Seats and $144 at SeatGeek. Knox News checked all prices March 21.
How long is the drive from Knoxville to Indianapolis?
Ever driven to Memphis? The trip to Indianapolis is shorter than that. Indianapolis is about a five-hour drive from Knoxville and is around 357 miles away.
Driving a typical car, the entire trip could cost around $46 according to gasprices.aaa.com.
How much are plane tickets from Knoxville to Indianapolis?
If you prefer to catch a flight, American, Delta and United airlines have flights to Indianapolis departing from McGhee Tyson Airport each day March 23-27. Keep in mind that prices and availability are likely to change as game day approaches. Only flights with multiple stops are available.

Where to park near Lucas Oil Stadium
- On-site parking at Lucas Oil Stadium for March Madness sessions is $40. Tickets add-ons can be purchased via Ticketmaster and lucasoilstadium.com.
- Prepaid and reserved parking closest to the stadium is $33-$50 via parkwhiz.com as of March 21. Parking is as low as $8 for other areas near the venue.
- Indianapolis offers over 70,000 parking spots downtown, according to the stadium website. Denison Parking owns and operates nearly 2,000 spaces in multiple parking lots surrounding the stadium.

Places to stay near Lucas Oil Stadium
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott ($194) Holiday Inn Indianapolis Downtown ($241) Tru by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown ($279) and Staybridge Suites ($328) are a few hotels suggested through the stadium’s “Hotels & Lodging” link.
Prices on hotels.com for stays within five miles of the arena with at least a “Good” rating ranged from $80 to $454 or higher per night for recommended hotels as of March 21. Many of the nearby hotels already had limited availability.
Restaurants and breweries near Lucas Oil Stadium to try
If you want to sample the dining options, restaurants The Eagle Mass Ave., Bluebeard, Cafe Patachou, Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar and Iozzo’s Garden of Italy come recommended by Yelp. 1933 Lounge, The Vault Indy, Wiseguy Lounge and Rye Bar are a few of the bars near the stadium.
Concessions at Lucas Oil Stadium
There are over 160 permanent and portable concession stands located throughout the stadium offering a wide variety of food and beverage options.
Sodexo Live! is the sole licensed food and beverage operator at Lucas Oil Stadium, according to the venue’s website. All concession stands are accessible and cashless. Outside food and beverages are prohibited inside the stadium except for guests with special medical or dietary needs.
