Manchester City star gifted Mercedes Benz G-Class after Premier League heroics upon reporting for international duty
Abdukodir Khusanov was gifted with a Mercedez Benz G-Class upon his arrival to the Uzbekistan National Team camp at Tashkent last week.
The 21-year-old has received huge plaudits for his seamless integration to life in the English top-flight after a £33.6 million move from RC Lens to Manchester City in January.
After recovering in fine fashion from a horror start to his Premier League debut in a 3-1 win over Chelsea in January, Khusanov has emerged as one of the first names on Pep Guardiola’s teamsheet after a string of exemplary, fearless displays at the heart of City’s backline.
Having started against each of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea since his arrival, the young centre half is expected to go only one way from here as City launch a new era under incoming director of football Hugo Viana come the end of the season.
Khusanov’s signing has taken Manchester City’s stocks in Uzbekistan through the roof, with the defender picking up the club’s February Player of the Month award.
The former Lens man has quickly adapted to the demands of the Premier League, having yet to learn the language and all things considered, Khusanov has exceeded even the most optimistic Manchester City fan’s expectations since he first landed in England in January.
Guardiola has been delighted with the impact his January arrival quartet of Khusanov, Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis and Nico Gonzalez since the club’s £181.5 million mid-season outlay.

The first Uzbek player to ever play in the Premier League, Khusanov was gifted with a Mercedez Benz G-Class upon his arrival to the Uzbekistan National Team camp at Tashkent last week.
Khusanov has gained popularity as a cult hero in Manchester owing to his throwback style of no-nonsense defending in an era when defenders’ on-ball ability weighs heavily on how highly they are rated.
Equally back at home, the 21-year-old has been glorified having made an irrefutably huge step up in terms of football from Lens to Manchester City – and having slotted in seamlessly under Pep Guardiola, arguably the greatest manager in the history of football.
